Klaus Haidl is interpreting, researching and arranging music from the middle ages to the current day. He is playing nearly all kinds and styles of music, using a large range of stringed instruments: Quintern, Fidel, Rebec, Lute, Archiliuto, Theorbo, Colascione, Baroque Guitar, Romantic Guitar, Modern Guitar, Electric Guitar, Mandolin, ….
Klaus Haidl, born and raised in the idyllic wood quarter, was already dominated by a great interest in all kinds of art and media at a young age. After a short detour studiyng to the human medicine, he decided on an academic musician career.
On Jazz and Popular music followed contemporary classical music and after that early music. Throughout his studies, he gained a lot of experience as lutenist, guitarist, arranger, composer and educator.
He works with various ensembles and orchestras specialized in early, contemporary, improvised and jazz music. Working with contemporary composers is just as much part of his artistic work as researching and transferring historical manuscripts and working on inter-disciplinary projects (literature/film/performance/theater/music).
Klaus Haidl is a winner of various international competitions and awards in music and film.
